Process

When designing a new website or migrating your current one, I keep things simple. My ethos is be more human - so I work to make communication streamlined and make myself easy to reach via my booking calendar.

Brand-New Website Design

It begins with understanding your business goals and how your website can support them. Together, we define the purpose of your site — whether that's lead generation, online sales, portfolio showcases, bookings, or something uniquely yours.

Redesign of an Existing Website

If you already have a site and want to refresh it, I'll look at what's working and what's not. We'll refine your content flow, update visuals to match your current brand, and improve usability and engagement. Whether that means polishing your layout or giving your entire presence a facelift, I take the strategy behind the design seriously.

Migration to Squarespace

Moving from another platform (like WordPress) doesn't have to be overwhelming. I handle the migration carefully — transferring your content, configuring your new Squarespace setup, and preserving your SEO. The goal is a smooth transition that gives you the security, speed, and ease of editing you've been wanting.

Typical Timeline

Starting with research and discovery, I lay out the website structure with content placeholders, and then build your site in Squarespace. I prioritize a content-first mindset, so your strongest copy and visuals take center stage.

  • Discovery & strategy: about 1 week

  • Wireframes & content planning: about 1 week

  • Visual design & revisions: 1-2 weeks

  • Build & content population: 1-2 weeks

  • Quality control, revisions, and launch: about 1 week

“It is difficult to write succinctly about Melissa’s value as a service provider and colleague. Melissa is extremely talented, creative, resourceful and reliable. These are all attributes of an expert graphics designer. In addition to these skills, Melissa is above all a team player with more enthusiasm for our organization than almost anyone.

She is well respected by all persons with whom she interacts and is considered by me to be one of the key players and most valuable assets in our organization.”
